I’ve been an avid fan of Fenty Beauty since it’s launch 2017. There was so much frenzy around the brand, I remember placing 2 separate orders, one after the other because I was afraid the items would sell out on launch day. At the time of Fenty Beauty launching, it was not shipping to South Africa, so I shipped the orders to a USA forwarding address instead. And while they later did allow for shipping to South Africa on their online platform, it is still a very different experience when compared to being able to shop the brand in-store, which I have experienced when travelling abroad.
So, you can understand my excitement upon hearing that both Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin are coming to South African retailers ARC and Edgars Beauty. I have tried at least 15 Fenty Beauty products, including foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, bronzer, & so much more. So, I think it would be fair to call myself somewhat of an expert about the brand.
My Fenty Beauty must-have products: Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
This is in my Top 5 Foundation list for a reason. This foundation comes in 50 shades & is a medium to full coverage that feels great on the skin. Often, foundations that can be built up to full coverage, feel heavy on the skin, buy you won’t experience that with this one. It has a soft matte finish that will last all day.
Gloss Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminizer + Plumper: Hot Cherry
I am a fan of all Fenty Beauty lip glosses, but the Gloss Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminizer + Plumper has been fast become my absolute favourite! This gloss has a plumping effect on the lips & causes a heat-like tingle to the lips. The Hot Cherry is my favourite because the sheer red shade gives me a natural look whilst making my lips look fuller. The Fenty Glow Heat shade is also great if you like a nude hippie. I use this one with a slightly darker lip liner & it is just perfection!
Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color: Uncensored
This is by far one of the most long wearing liquid lipsticks you will ever wear! If you don’t want to worry about your lipstick rubbing off & having to reapply a ton of times, then this is for you. Uncensored is my favourite shade because it is a universal red shade, that was designed to look great on all skin tones. I love a good red lipstick & this is my go-to.
Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer The Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer comes in 50 shades which correspond to your matching foundation shade, and makes finding the perfect concealer that much easier. I personally prefer a slightly lighter under eye area, so I use 1 shade to conceal, & another slightly lighter shade to brighten. The concealer is creamy & long-wearing with a matte finish.
Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Fragrance-Free Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF30 Sunscreen.
This SPF is hydrating, lightweight & oil-free. Whilst I am a medium-light skin tone & have not experienced any white-cast, I have seen videos online of people of varying skin tones mention that the product leaves no white-cast. A really great product to try if you’re on the market for an SPF.
