A/W Skincare Switch Up

Skin can be visibly subjected to dullness and dryness during colder months which isn't cute. The key words right now are hydrate, nourish, and protect. Just as our autumn/winter wardrobe gets tweaked a little, so do our skincare habits. Here are little changes you can make to keep your skin healthy and glowing this time of the year.

HYDRATING MASK

If you’re experiencing dryness and flaking, then you’ll need a hydrating face mask. The properties in the mask help rebuild your skin's natural moisture barrier. You can choose from sheet masks, overnight, or rinse-off versions.

DAILY MOISTURIZER

Opt for hydrating moisturizers to protect against skin dryness for the colder months ahead. Rich in moisture doesn't mean heavy. Use a light moisturizer with SPF50 for the day and a slightly heavier one for nighttime.

IT'S WHAT'S INSIDE THAT COUNTS

There are certain skincare ingredients to look for when restocking your products during colder months. Look for ceramides, hyaluronic acids, vitamin C and shea butter. These are great during the year but are magic when faced with seasonal drying skin.

LONG HOT SHOWERS ARE A NO NO

Don't do it. Hot water strips the skin of its natural oils which will result in dry skin. Remember to moisturize your face and body right after you get out of the shower to restore moisture.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT. AND DRINK!

Staying hydrated the old school way is really important for your skin. Drink lots of water and eat antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables such as berries - blueberries, blackberries, and cranberries. Orange coloured veggies such as carrots, squash, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes also help prevent acne breakouts that can make your skin blemished and blotchy.

Remember Imprecca babes, it's important to wear sunscreen throughout the year, yes, even on cloudy days. This helps prevent against sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, and skin discolouration.
